The City of Milton Parks and Recreation Department is seeking the public’s input on future development around the Milton Sportsplex which is located at 5629 Byrom Street.

Milton’s SportsPlex currently features two football fields, a skate park, six ball fields, six tennis courts, and the Guy Thompson Community Center. Recently the City of Milton purchased an additional 33 acres which increased the SportsPlex’s acreage significantly.

Milton Parks and Recreation department Director John Norton seeks the public’s input on what they feel is needed at the SportsPlex to ensure it meets Milton’s future needs at a public forum scheduled for February 19 at 6 p.m. at Milton City Hall, in the Council Chambers.

“We are urging everyone in the community to come and participate in this public forum. As Milton continues to grow, we want to make sure the Parks and Recreation Department meets the future needs of the public at the SportsPlex” said Norton.

Currently the Milton SportsPlex serves as the home to community youth sports programs involving baseball, football, cheerleading, basketball, senior programs, tennis, adult softball and many other events and activities

Norton said “We know interest in our sports and activities are growing as our community grows and this is the perfect opportunity for the public to have input into the future development of the SportsPlex.

For more information you can contact the Guy Thompson Community Center at 850-983-5466 or e-mail Norton at
