Bad dogs and locked gates make it difficult to read meters.

Bad Dogs
A common hindrance to Meter Readers are bad dogs. Several Meter Readers have been bitten, one being severely mauled and hospitalized. Meters should be made accessible by confining dogs away from meter areas. If problems with dogs persist, the meter could possibly be relocated by the City of Milton at the customer's expense.

Locked Gates
When confronted with a locked gate, the Meter Reader is forced to estimate the meter reading. If a gate must be locked, it would be helpful if the customer arranged for the Meter Reader to receive a key or combination to the lock.
