High Gas Bills

Maintenance: Gas appliances should be serviced annually by a qualified technician to ensure proper function and efficiency. The air filter in the furnace should be changed at least once a month.

Over sized pilot lights: Pilot lights which burn larger than required can add significantly to a gas bill. Pilot lights can be adjusted by a service technician.

Gas Leak: Even a small gas leak can contribute to your gas bill. If you smell gas DO NOT hesitate to call the City of Milton at (850) 983-5410 (Public Works Desk) during working hours, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. If you suspect a gas leak before or after these hours, please call 911 to report the leak. A gas technician will be dispatched to your home immediately. There is no charge for this service and a person must be at the home for the gas technician to check for a leak.
