Where does our water come from?

Water TowerThe City of Milton's Drinking Water comes from wells that tap the pristine sand & gravel aquifer. The water is treated as it is pumped by injecting lime for stabilization/corrosion control, chlorine for disinfection, and fluoride for healthier teeth for our children.

COMMON CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS:
Cloudy Water
If your water is cloudy or a milky color please do the following:
1 Draw water in a clear glass container
2.  Watch water clear
3.  If water clears from bottom to top, this means that it is air in the water and the water is safe to drink.
4.  If water does not clear please call the Water/Wastewater Treatment Department at (850) 983-5461 or the Public Works Desk at (850) 983-5410 ext. 223, so we may make an appointment to come to your home.
